Today, Years 5 and 6 boys took part in a 6 a-side football tournament with twelve other schools divided into three leagues of four teams. The 4 teams with the most points progressed to the semi finals and the winners of those games faced each other in the final. We played three games in our league, drawing twice and losing once (1-1, 0-0, 0-1) so unfortunately we didn’t progress to the semi finals but we can be very proud of our performances, particularly the two draws where we dominated possession and created many opportunities. We defended well as a team, conceding only twice in three games, and we attacked well as a team – we were unlucky not to score more. After the tournament, we played three friendly matches against other schools and won all three games so we returned to school with a winning feeling. Well played, St Vincent’s FC!
