Today is Shrove Tuesday which is also known as Pancake Day!

Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday which is the start of Lent. It is also known as Pancake Day or Fat Tuesday as Christians use up all the butter, eggs and treats to prepare themselves for their Lenten fast.

Some people like to make savoury pancakes and others like sweet pancakes, some like thick, fluffy pancakes and others prefer thin crepes. Whatever you prefer we hope you have fun making some today!

You might already have a favourite pancake recipe, but if you don’t here are some of our favourite pancake recipes that you can try:

Once you have your pancake, now you have to decide on your topping! Here are some suggestions for what to have on your pancake:

  • Lemon and sugar
  • Chocolate and banana
  • Fruit and yoghurt
  • Bacon and maple syrup
  • Ham and cheese
