Today was World Book Day in Nursery and we had such a busy and fun day!

World Book Day started early for Nursery, as on Monday we got to visit Daunt Book Shop to exchange our world book day tokens for a free £1 book. It was so nice to walk there, have a look around the book shop children’s section and then choose which book we would like to take home. I hope you have enjoyed reading these books at home!

The rest of the activities continued today, starting with the annual World Book Day assembly and parade. It was lovely to see everyone in their book character costumes and hear about what World Book Day is all about. We then had a special visit from a story teller named Helen Tozer who told us the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We then did some chocolate hands on play with playdough and slime (not real chocolate sadly!) and drew some of Charlies hats. For lunch we got a special chocolate cake with custard to celebrate as well. After lunch Nursery and Reception opened up so that we could make book marks for our new story books. We then had more singing with Helen, and finally had 15 minutes to read with our mums and dads and older siblings. I hope you had as fun of a day as the teachers did!

What character did you dress as?
