Today we celebrated World Book Day together!

We be began the morning with a whole school assembly. Our school theme (Julia Donaldson) was revealed, the winners of the Extreme Reading Challenge were announced and there was a parade of each class. We had a wonderful time seeing all of the different character costumes from the school.

After this, we had a rotation through three different classrooms. We started in Year 5, reading The Gruffalo and inventing an alternate character together. Then we travelled to Year 4, where we read The Scarecrow’s Wedding together. Last but certainly not least, we ended up in Year 6 for What the Ladybug Heard.

After lunch, we sang a song about reading with Years 4 and 5. We ended the day with our parents visiting the classroom and reading with us.

We had a marvellous time sharing our love of reading with each other!
