In our English lessons this week we have been reading ‘The Great Fire of London’ by Emma Adams. We have been studying the events that unfolded on Sunday 2nd September 1666 and have been practising writing in the past tense.

Today we took on the character of Thomas Farriner’s cat and wrote our own diary entry about what happened on the evening of the fire breaking out in the bakery on Pudding Lane.

We discussed lots of ideas about what the cat would see, hear and feel during this devastating time. We wrote down lots of interesting adjectives to include in our writing and had a go at writing our own diary entry in role of Thomas Farriner’s cat.

We are very proud of our work!
