We had the best day out today! We visited Broadstairs beach in Kent! In Geography we have been learning about the features of the seaside, such as, sea, pier, harbour and cliff. We saw all those things today!

When we arrived at the seaside we had a play in the sand and built our sandcastles for a competition! They were all excellent. Some of us took seaweed, shells and rocks from the beach to add to our sandcastles. Next we took part in a beach scavenger hunt with Mrs Duffy. We tried to find everything on the list!  We then drew a map of the beach, looking at what we saw in front of us, behind us, to the left of us and to the right of us.

Next we went paddling in the sea! We jumped over the waves which was very fun!

We all ended the day with a special treat- an ice cream! We then packed our buckets and spades ready to come back to school.

We had a fabulous day! Thank you to the SVPA for funding the trip and to the parents and carers who joined us today. Thank you to Mrs Duffy and Miss Carruthers for organising lots of fun activities too!

We hope you enjoyed it!
