For the past week Year 1 have been learning all about the religion Islam. We have learnt that people who are Islam are called Muslims, and we have talked about lots of similarities between Islam and Christianity. We know that the Muslim version of God is Allah, we know that the Muslim Bible is called the Quran and we learnt all about the prophet Muhammad. We listened to stories about the prophet Muhammad that showed us how kind, respectful, brave, smart and honest he is.

Today we had the chance to visit the London Central Mosque today, which was so interesting. A man named Muhammad showed us around. He told us some history about the Mosque and Islam in general, and then we got to go into the Mosque library. In there, there was a replica of a famous Mosque in Mecca. It could hold hundreds of thousands of people! We then went down to the beautiful prayer room, where we saw the chandelier and the area where people pray.

It is so interesting to learn about different cultures and religions!
