This week, Year 3 took part in a multi-skills sports festival at Paddington Recreation Ground. After we had arrived, we immediately settled down for lunch in the shade and warmed up with two laps of the track. We learned quickly that it wasn’t a good idea to run 800m too quickly!

We divided into our house teams and started with an obstacle course including speed bounce, hurdles and bean bag throwing, plus lots of running! This was followed by a game of cricket so we divided into two teams of fielders and batsmen (and/or batswomen). After a game of cricket, we separated into four separate teams and played two separate games of rounders. The bat was harder to use than cricket and we needed time to understand the rules but we had a lot of fun!

It proved to be a nice warm up for sports day in a couple of weeks time and the weather took us all by surprise because it was so much sunnier than we were expecting! Thank you to the organisers, the older students helping to facilitate the activities and the parents volunteers who helped us with the journey there and back.
