Year 4 were hard at work on Friday – we took over the Wallace Collection! It was interesting to see all the different jobs that you can do in a museum. Our first job was to dust the huge staircase in the entrance. It was important that we all wore gloves so not to damage to materials, and we all had the chance to dust using their special dusters made of goat hair.

During the rest of the day, we split into groups and had a chance to do three different jobs. Our first was welcoming the visitors into the museum and giving them guides and information. Our second job was in one of the galleries. We had to count all the objects in the room to check they are all still there, and then make sure all the visitors didn’t touch any of the objects and art. Our last job was in the shop, where we had to price all the objects and restock the shop.

Well done to the Young Curators who also led a tour at lunchtime. We had a wonderful day working at the museum.
