Year One have been having lots of fun in Science identifying and naming a variety of everyday materials such as wood, metal, plastic, glass, rubber etc.
They have been describing the simple physical properties of a variety of materials as well as comparing and grouping together a variety of materials on the basis of their physical properties.
Here are some words we used to describe materials:
rough
smooth
flexible
rigid
shiny
dull
soft
hard
We can’t wait to start our investigation this week. We will be investigating which material is the best for keeping a teddy dry!
