This week, 10 pupils from Years 3 and 4 took part in a netball tournament alongside 5 other Westminster schools.
The morning involved drills, games and exercises designed to develop the children’s netball skills including passing, defending and shooting skills.
After lunch, we watched a demonstration match involving two schools where positioning and rules were explained and demonstrated. Now it was time to put what we had learned into practice and we played 3 matches against three different teams. We won two matches and drew the other, which was a fantastic achievement. Even better than that though was the teamwork, the understanding of tactics, the use of space and the application of skills that was on display. We also demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, giving each other support and encouragement. We had a fantastic experience and we are all extremely proud of ourselves for our commitment, hard work and teamwork.
A huge thank you to the organisers and particularly the volunteers from Marylebone High School for Girls who facilitated the activities in the morning and refereed the matches in the afternoon so well! Well done everyone!
