  3. Hi Mrs Travers
I think this book is about a giraffe.
I think the giraffe is going to go on a trip with the man. Maybe they are travelling to a cold place because the giraffe is wearing a orange coat. They will be walking miles and miles because the giraffe can’t go in a aeroplane. ✈️
Now I will read the book. ?️

  4. Miss Travers says:

  5. The men found the giraffe and they put the giraffe beside the camel. ?
When they arrived at Paris everyone gathered to see the giraffe and they were so so happy to her.?

  6. Morning everybody,

I think the story is about a cat and a man helping Zeraffa the giraffe get to Africa. The man gave the giraffe a cape because he was cold in the aeroplane going home. The houses have smoke coming from their chimneys so it is winter .
I am going to read it now.

  7. Miss Travers says:

  8. Hello Mrs Travers,
I am happy to work on that story because I went to see the puppet show at the Little Angel Theater and that was superb!!!! My mum bought the book at the theater so I have it at home!!!
When I see the cover book, I realize that it will talk about a giraffe who travels far because we can see houses and green grass although giraffe live in the savanna.

Everyone came onto their balcony’s to see the giraffe. They had a party to celebrate Zeffirelli’s. she like looking at the stars at night with Atir.

  11. Miss Travers says:

Excellent summarising skills, Aiden! Well done! Did you enjoy the story?

  12. I read the story.

The hunters captured a giraffe in Africa and brought it home for the Pasha. The Pasha decided to give her to the King of France as a present. It was along way from Africa.

They sailed through the river Nile towards the sea.

Atir looked after Zeraffa the name he gave the giraffe. The journey was a happy one because there were nice views of Luxor, the Sphinx and they had nice food from the people that were kind.

They arrived at Marseilles and the people were happy and extraordinarily pleased to see Zeraffa from Africa. Atir and Zeraffa had to get to Paris they decided to walk, Zeraffa was grumpy because she wanted to stay inAfrica and be hot, she missed her home.

Everybody was happy to see Zeraffa arrive from Africa to travel to Paris. They tickled her and they had a really big party for her . People baked giraffe biscuits , men had tall hats.

She lived in the Jardin des Plantes. At night time the Kings granddaughter fed her apples and Atir whispered stories about home.

    The challenge.

The people are feeling happy and surprised. I know this because they had never seen a giraffe in Paris before and lots of people came to see her. Even the birds came to see Zeraffa.

  13. Good morning Miss Travers. When I first looked at the cover of the story, I thought it would be about the story of a friendship between a man and a giraffe. Based on the way the man was dressed, I thought that the action was taking place in Africa.
When I read the story, I realised that a lot of people loved the giraffe and they liked the style of the giraffe. The part that I really liked is when the people of Paris fell in love with the giraffe and started to adopt her style: made giraffe-liked cakes, giraffe-style trees, giraffe on ties etc. I thought it was really funny.

  14. Miss Travers says:

I liked that part of the story too! You have understood the story well! Did you enjoy the story?

  15. My favourite part of the book is when it says the word Louise. ?

I think the people are feeling happy.?
I know this because they are happy to see the giraffe.?
I miss you so much! ??

  16. Miss Travers says:

There is a character called Louise isn’t there!
    Well done, excellent inference!

  17. Good morning, Miss Travers!
Before reading – Looking at the front cover:
    1) What do you think this book will be about? I think the book is about a giraffe that can only say rhymes because the title of the book rhymes.
    2) What do you think is going to happen? I think the giraffe will say rhymes to the other the animals and the animals will not like it. When she was walking home, a boy found her and liked her rhymes.
    After reading:
    3) What happened in the story? Atir found a giraffe in the plains of Africa and he took her to Paris through the Nile river. When they got there everyone in Paris made everything of giraffes because they really liked Giraffa. They made things like big hats, cookies of giraffes, new hair styles and some ladies even put some big eye lashes to look like Giraffa’s eyes. Atir told Giraffa some stories about hot wind and starry skies. A girl named Louise was also very nice to the giraffe. She gave her massages in her back. I think what will happen next is this: Louise and Atir will marry and move back to Africa with Giraffa.
    4) What was your favourite part of the story and why? My favourite part of the story was actually thinking about what would happen next because marrying is so cute and I like a love story.
    Challenge – Inference:

Well done for such a detailed answer. I like that you have used adjectives too like, sweet.

  56. Hello Miss Travers!
I thouh I had sent my answers yesterday but I didn’t so here they are.
    1. This book will be about that Zeraffa Giraffa will go on a journey with Atir.
    2. They are travelling to on the grass.
    3. In the story Zeraffa and Atir were sailing in a felucca and travelled to Paris. Zeraffa and Atir walked from Marseille to Paris with other people. In Paris the Queen organised a fete and Paris fell in love with Zeraffa. Gardeners made bushes of Zeraffa heads and bakers made Zeraffa cookies. 4. My favourite part of the story was when Zeraffa arrived in Paris because I love Paris.

  57. Miss Travers says:

    Hello Heloise,
    Well done! That’s brilliant work!

  58. Hi Miss Travers,
I thought this book would be about a giraffe going somewhere for a walk.
I have drawn a story map. In the story the giraffe was taken from Africa on a boat down the river. The person looking after the giraffe named her Zeraffa and gave her an amulet to keep her safe. On the river, they went past a sphinx and pyramids. They arrived in France and an inventor said Zeraffa could go in a hot air balloon to Paris but they walked instead. Everyone in the town looks out of their windows because they had never seen a giraffe before and they were very excited and everyone loved the giraffe.
The giraffe was taken to the party at the kings house.
The boy snuck out into the garden at night with the kings granddaughter and Atir whispered stories to the giraffe about Africa, to make him feel like she was home.

My favourite part of the story was at the end when the granddaughter feeds Zefaffa apples and Atir tells her stories about her home. I think this makes the giraffe happy.
The story is also a bit sad because the giraffe was stolen from her home.

  59. Miss Travers says:

    Well done Eden, excellent work!
