  2. Miss Travers says:

Well done! I hope you tried the challenges!

  3. Good morning Miss Travers,

I enjoyed working with the coins this morning. I found notes more tricky, but I completed all the worksheets!

For the first challenge, I got:

    1. 10 + 2 + 5 + 2 =19
    2. 5 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 2 = 19
    3. 5 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 19

  4. Miss Travers says:

Well done Flavia! Yes the notes are a bit more tricky! Well done for doing the challenge.

  5. I think I found the 3 different way to get 19p:
    10p+2p+5p+2p= 19p
    5p+10p+2p+2p= 19p
    2p+2p+5p+10p=19p

    ——————————————————————————————
    10p+2p= 12p(for the lollipop)
    10p+20p= 30p (for the teddy)
    14p to buy the rubber
4p is the cost of the ballons

  6. Miss Travers says:

Good work Junior! That is correct!

  7. Isabella says:

    Dear Miss Travers.

I have completed my Maths No Problem 1B pages 119-124 and I will email them to you.

    Banana is 6 p =

    5p + 1p
    2p + 2p + 2p
    2p + 2p + 1p +1 p
    2p + 1p+1p +1p +1p
    1p + 1p + 1p +1p +1p +1p

    Strawberry is 3p

    2p + 1p
    1p+1p+1p

    Apple is 8p

    1p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p
    2p+2p+2p+2p
    2p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p
    2p+2p+1p+1p+1p+1p
    2p+2p+2p+1p+1p
    5p+2p+1p
    5p+1p+1p+1p

I recognise and understand the value of

    £5
    £10
    £20
    £50

    There are 4 x £5 notes
    There are 5x £10
    There are 3 x £20
    There are 4x £50

    Challenge

    19p

    1x10p +1x5p + 2x2p = 19p

    3x5p + 2x2p = 19p

    20p

    2p x 10 = 20p
    2p x 5 + 5p x 2 = 20p
    10p x 2 = 20p
    10p + 5p x 2 =20p
    5p x 4 = 20p
    5p x 2 + 2p x 5 = 20p

    2 is an even number
    10 is an even number
    5 is an odd number

I had to be careful as I was mixing odd and even numbers to find the answers.

  8. Miss Travers says:

All done! We went to school to pick up the maths no problem
    book today. It easier!

  22. Miss Travers says:

Great, I’m glad it was easier working from the books.

  23. Hi Miss Travers, I did the Maths No problem! I’ve a little bit difficulty with the change then I will practice it with my mum to playing of the grocery store 🙂

  24. Miss Travers says:

Hello Mateus, working out change is more tricky. Remember it’s just you have paid too much so the other person has to give some money back.
If a dinosaur cost 7p and you only had a 10p coin, you would give the person your 10p and the other person would give you 3p change.
10p-7p=3p. You just have to work out the difference in prices.

  25. I did it in my maths book I had only 3 pages to do because I already did the other three pages. It was easy.

  26. Miss Travers says:

Well done! I hope you did the challenges!

  27. Hello Miss Travers,

    Banana 6p:
    1p+5p=6p
    2p+1p+2p+1p=6p

    Strawberry 3p:
    1p+2p=3p

    Apple 8p:
    5p+2p+1p=8p
    2p+2p+2p+2p=8p
    1p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p+1p=8p

    Challenge
    19p:
    1- 10p+5p+2p+2p
    2- 2p+5p+2p+5p+5p
    3- 2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+5p

Using only 2p, 5p and 10p coins, can you show 20p?
    1- 10p+10
    2- 5p+5p+5p+5p
    3- 5p+5p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p
    4- 10p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p
    5- 2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p
