Good morning Year 6, today is the final day in March and here is your Maths Challenge!

Congratulations to Alfie who was the first person to answer correctly yesterday!

The correct answer was:

Jim sold the dog and the cat for £72 and £48 respectively, a total of £120.
The dog cost £50 and the cat cost £75, a total of £125. The cat and the dog were sold for a total of £120, so Jim made a loss of £5.

Did you get it right?

Use your Home Learning Book to complete your workings out and then write your answer below so I can see it.

Tomorrow morning, I will approve the answers and reveal who completed the challenge first!

Good luck!

Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy 🙂

  8. Hi! I have solved the puzzle. I have sent my answers in using the file sharing.

  9. 1st row across – 27
    4th row across – 28
    1st row down – 27
    2nd row down – 22
    3rd row down – 24

    Each circle is worth 5 units.
    Each triangle is worth 8 units.
    Each clover is worth 6 units.

  11. I found out that one 3 leafed clover was: 6
    I found that one circle was: 6.5
    I found out that one triangle was: 6.5

    This means that the the top horizontal line in total is: 24.5

    This means the last horizontal line in total is: 25

    This means the first vertical line on the left in total is: 24.5

    This means that the total of the second vertical line is: 25

    This means that the third vertical line in total is: 25

  12. Hi I think i’ve solved the puzzle. i have sent in my answers already.

  13. Sorry it took me so long, I had some stuff to take care of. I am unsure how to lay this out but here’s my try.

    So on the bottom of the puzzle, the shapes going from top to bottom, the totals going from left to right are:
    27, 28, 25, 26.

    On the right side the totals going from top to bottom are:
    29, 25, 20, 30.

    This is the best way I could set it out sorry!?

    The circle is five
    The triangle is eight
    The club is six
    Thank you!?

  17. The right collum answers are:30,34
    The bottom row going from left to right:
    30,28,31

    😉

  18. ? Laetitia ? says:

    Circle = 5
    Triangle=8
    Clubs=12

    At the bottom row from left to right, 33 – 34- 37- 26
    At the top right row, from top to bottom, 33-25-20-40

    I don’t know if this is correct, but if I find it wrong I might send in another answer

  19. I think that the are equal to five, the triangles are equal to eight and the club is equal to 6.

    For the right side it goes going from top to bottom 27, 25, 20 and 28.

    For the bottom line going from right to left 26, 25, 22 and 27.

  20. Good morning Miss Gorick and Miss Healy!
    I got this answer:
    25
    27
    20
