Imagine we are opening a new Year 6 Theme Park and each of you is in charge of designing one of the rides!

  • 1.    Think about rides and rollercoasters you have been on. What did you like/dislike about them?
  • 2. Who will use your ride? Younger children, teenagers or adults?
  • 3. What do people in this age group look for in a ride? e.g. small children probably won’t like big scary rollercoasters!
  • 4. Decide an appropriate name for your ride
  • 5. Draw your ride and label it clearly.
    • What will it look like? (colours, pattern etc)
    • What will it do?

Once you have completed your design present it on the blog-include the name of your ride and a short description about who it is designed for and what it will do! If you have an idea for the name of the theme park include that too!

If you would like to photograph your design, send it in and I can post it on the blog!

e.g.

Theme Park name: 6* Adventure Land

Ride name: Hippity Hop Bouncing Bunny

Age range: 3-6 year olds

Description: Playful bunny Buttons has hidden from his friends in the garden. Join the other bunnies as they explore the garden in this bouncy ride! Unleash your hidden bunny on the Hippity Hop Bouncing Bunny at 6* Adventure Land and see if you can find Buttons!

  1. My ride is called ‘spin ‘n’ ding’.
This is because there is a circular ride (with no roof) that spins round and round.connected to it are tiny capsules (one on each side) that hit each other and go back ,hit each other and so on.whenever the capsules hit each other, they make a loud’DING’ sound.this is why I chose this name.i think this ride is mainly for brave teenagers and adults.

  2. Miss Gorick says:

Gosh! I feel feel dizzy just by reading the description! I think you’re right that you will have to be quite brave…I love the name! Thank you Ariella-we have our first ride!

  3. The Theme Park could be called “daredevil level”

  4. The name for my fairground/theme park ride is ‘Flying Animals’. This is a ride for younger children. On this ride, there is a pole in the middle, with various animals coming off it, attached with smaller poles. These animals have small seats inside them, where a child can sit, and when the ride starts, these animals move up and down, as though they’re flying. While this happens, the ride also moves around, like a carousel, and a pointed circus-top roof sits above it.

  5. Miss Gorick says:

This sounds great Chiara and it sounds very appealing with the circus-top roof!

  6. Miss Gorick says:

I love the sound of the circus-top roof-I can imagine that this ride would be very beautiful to look at 🙂

  7. My ride is called’ frizzy a wizzzy’ i named it this because, when i was thinking about it, it has to be attractive. We all have to be brave in our life time and my scary ride goes up 200m! It has three humongous spins there is a bubble and the bubble holds up to 2 people .

i think mainly this ride is for teenagers and adults that are brave!

  8. Miss Gorick says:

Gosh that does sound like you have to be brave…I don’t think I would be brave enough!

  9. My ride is called: dodgems
This ride has four seats around a circular gear that spins. In the seat you have controllers that slide the seats outward and inward. There are obstacles in the path that the riders must dodge. If one of the riders hits one of the obstacles all the riders fall into a pool of sharks( the riders are wearing scuba diving equipment ).
This ride is for 13+ and is very dangerous- you must sign a form which says that if you don’t survive the ride it is not my problem as you brought it upon yourself.

    Nina

  10. Miss Gorick says:

Gosh! Your ride takes a scary turn!

  11. Good morning!
My ride is called ‘Over The Clouds Adventure’. It’s the most unique rollercoaster ride to ever been seen so far!
This is mainly for tweens and teenagers but adults can ride it too!
The ‘Over The Clouds Adventure’ ride brings you on a lovely journey through a tunnel, lit up with different coloured crystals which slightly slopes up so you find yourself going through a room with animals, clouds and sweets of all kinds. Once you get through the ride ends up outside, in the theme park… just like any big rollercoaster there are 3 loops and various drops! By using an electro magnetic pulse (technology) moves the cart along with no connection to the rail, giving the riders the idea they are in space, for next they end up in a space tunnel! This has various colours of stars on the walls, planets and milky ways… this is the point that there are pictures taken of the passengers with the thrill of the flying cart on their faces. As they leave the tunnel- it connects back using the electro magnetic pulse.
The cart then drives into the station.

  12. My ride is called ‘Twisting Twirl’
I recommend this ride for teenagers or adults that are brave. In my ride, there are metallic poles, secured from a very safe ,circular glass roof that hold transparent and waterproof bubbles on the edge. There are no walls and when you get into the bubble, it starts spinning and moving up and down. When you look up you can see beautiful birds flying through the crystal -clear roof. When you suddenly look down an illusion twirl is seen which gives you the image in you head that you are going to get sucked through the centre of the circular ilussion.
The theme park could that the ride could be in could be called ‘Floating Fright’.

  13. Miss Gorick says:

I like the sound of the beautiful birds flying!

  14. My ride is called twirl and spin. I gave my ride this name because it twirls all around the theme park and at the same time it spins 150 feet in the air .But for security it has a roof in case it rains and a secure belt with iron cast metal bars. This ride is for teenagers mainly.

  15. Miss Gorick says:

Lots of you like spinning rides!

  19. Miss Gorick says:

    This sounds terrifying!!

  20. My ride will be called ‘Plane crash’.
I named my ride this because there will be a plane attached to rope fly ping high in the air. The plane will then crash (into water) and you will have to ride the plane (like bumper cars) into safety (the exit).

This ride is designed for adults (18+).

    Name~ Lighting Strikes
    Age~ 13 and or above

    Description:
This terrifying ride will scare you out of our theme park! This ride will pull you right down as you go up. You will encounter unexpected twists and turns, literally! And worst of all, this is based in a underground cave where a toxic chemical was certainly exposed causing bizarre and natural weather to occur such as odd “Lightning Strikes” out of nowhere. While scientists try to discover what is causing this to happen, people have recently been poking around to see if what they say about the cave is true, and you happen to be on of those people.

  22. Miss Gorick says:

    Another scary ride!

  23. Miss Gorick says:

  34. Goodmorning Miss Healy and Miss Gorick!
    My ride is called: Kaleidoscopic
    Age range: 4+
    Description:
DISCLAIMER: You must wear VR goggles for best experience we have made precautionary measures in order that the goggles stay intact with your head*

This ride is very trippy, as you hop on the carriage, you are immediately plunged into a circular tunnel. Yet not an ordinary one, your VR goggles let you see water along side of it. Moving and splashing about as you ride down, soon you are out of the tunnel and on a cliff hanger for three seconds only to be dropped brutally. In your VR goggles you will see a beautiful sunset right infront of your eyes, when your ride slowly comes to an end.

  35. _~*Ariella*~_ says:

This is a room filled with mirrors and you have to find the way out! But on the way, there will be evil goblins trying to trick you into banging into your own reflection! And if you want a challenge, you can wear 3D sunglasses!!

  44. Jade year6 says:

sorry I forgot to write on the blog but I planned it all in my home learning folder book.

    My ride is called:Danger twapsysplash
This is a ride for 8-9accompanied and 10+Kids and adults who are looking for a scary, fun and exciting adventure.

What I really like in a theme park is a really exciting ride or a scary ride but when the them park is in summer I really like a ride which refreshes you a bit so I put all of them combined.

This is a mission/adventure on a wooden bark through the “rainforest” first you have to go through the rainforest killing at least 20 sloppy muddy gloop monsters, with a gun who shoots rubber balls which are strong enough to make the wooden monster fall when touched. You have to do this or you get sprinkled with some water. Then you have to go through a spooky still on your boat we’re tigers bears and lions come out scaring you. When you arrive at the end of the cave you have to answer correctly at least 5 rainforest questions or you get wet.finally you come out of the cave and make a nice journey through 5e rainforest up and up because when you arriv at the top you make a sudden drop into a tank of water which really soaks you.
