Good morning Class 4!

Well done for your fantastic writing yesterday! It was a very tricky challenge!
To see yesterday’s blog and read your feedback, click here.

As you know, your task is to retell The Tempest in just 100 words.
Today you need to publish your final writing piece.
Before you post it, you need to check spellings and punctuation but also ensure your writing makes sense.
Remember, the task is not to just bullet point the main events. Your writing needs to engage the reader and really tell Shakespeare’s famous story – just in much fewer words than he did!

If you can, write your final piece in your Home Learning Book or on paper, using your neatest handwriting. Choose how to present your work to really celebrate all of the learning we have done on The Tempest. For example, you might want to design a beautiful page border or frame for your writing which reflect the story. Or you might want to create a picture to go with your writing which captures your favourite scene. Remember, this is the last piece of writing you will do on Shakespeare’s The Tempest so make it the best writing you have ever done!

You could decorate your work with images of the island, the characters or even the storm at sea! Just remember to make sure your work is neat and presented beautifully!

Once you have completed your work, send it in and I will upload it onto the blog for your friends to see!
I am looking forward to seeing you final piece and I hope you have enjoyed learning all about The Tempest!

From Miss Lee 🙂

  1. Hello miss Lee, feeling well?
I will post you my writing from my yellow book.
Do I have to post it on the blog or send it?
This was a very funny task, though quite tricky.
I did my writing for 5 times to come with my final piece.
Thank you very much to the primary Shakespeare company. So far I have loved their brilliant and very entertaining activities.

Well done for being resilient and not giving up, it was a very tricky task!
How thoughtful to also thank the Primary Shakespeare Company! You are right, they have worked hard to make sure we can still be involved in the Shakespeare Project, even though it is a little different to how it would have been in school!
We will continue lots of fun activities but hopefully we will be back at school soon as I am missing you all!

  3. Everyone is perfect. Thank you miss, though this was more the a tricky task for this was a supercalifragalisticexpialadociously hard task. Thanks,Stella!

    Missing you all too!

  9. Miss Lee says:

Fantastic! Well done Amarissa! I bet you are proud that you managed to do it!
You have managed to retell the first part of the story in 100 words and it is written really well to engage the reader!
Now see if you can tell the whole story in 100 words (it’s a tricky challenge).
Or write out the paragraph you have posted in your neatest handwriting, checking capital letters. Then send a picture of your writing to be added to the gallery!

  10. Once there was a person called prospero the duke of Milan, his wife died and prospero sulked, his brother took over but it didn’t go well. antino had a plan. He put prospero and baby Miranda in a sunken ship but they survived and were stranded on a deserted island.

Ferdinand Met prospero and gave Ferdinand tasks to test his love on Miranda
The couple had a marriage. Spirits came from gods to celebrate
Prospero set a trap to catch Evil Caliban,Stephano and Trinculo called the golden washing line. They were chased by dogs.
Then they all got together and went home.

  14. One day in a place called Milan, there was a festival because the Duke’s baby was born. But a few days later, a tragic thing happened. Prospero’s (the Duke) wife died.
He isolated himself and told his brother to lead, but even though he did all the work, nobody praised him like they praised Prospero.
He thought about killing Prospero and got a boat with holes and sailed him off to die. However Gonzalo put food, water and his magic book because he knew that Prospero was studying magic.
Prospero covered the wholes with magic and sailed off.

  29. Hi Miss Lee,

A long time ago there was a duke called Prospero. One day Prospero and his wife had a daughter called Miranda. The city of Milan was full of joy until his wife died. Prospero was so sad he locked himself away in his library. Soon Prospero’s brother Antonio came and said “you need to stop this and you need to rule again”. Prospero said “no you do it”, so Antonio did…..
