Good Morning Year 2!

Click here for a printable version of this blog post: English Tuesday printable

Well done for answering yesterday’s questions. In the challenge questions we thought about some of the word choices Michael Rosen used. These are the same choices we make when we do our writing to make it the best it can be!

Today we are looking at adjectives. Can you remember what an adjective is? It is a describing word that adds more detail to the noun. We often use our senses to help us come up with ideas: What does it look like? Sound like? Feel like? (Smell and taste are not always that helpful…!)

Go onto this BBC Bitesize website to watch a video and do some adjective activities.

Now see if you can do this activity:

You can use any other adjectives as well to make your sentences as descriptive as possible. Remember, adjectives can go before the noun (the tall, green tree) or after the noun (the tree was tall and green).

*If you want to do more writing using adjectives, then this BBC Bitsize daily lesson has the same adjective video but then some extended writing activities that you may choose to do.
