Good Morning Year 2!

Click here for a printable version of this blogpost: English Tuesday printable

I hope you enjoyed reading the start of our book for these two weeks. The crayons are all described by their colour, and colours are a great way to add adjectives and description to our writing.

Today I want you to write five sentences, using colours as adjectives to describe your nouns.

*You may want to challenge yourself to use different words for the colours. This word mat has lots of different words for the different shades of the colours.

Remember, that we can use adjectives either before or after the noun:

The tree is green and tall.

The green tree is very tall.

If you are using lots of the adjectives, then you may need to remember how to use commas in a list. Click here for a video to help you remember.  You don’t need a comma before the last one:

The British flag is red, white and blue.

But if you are using adjectives before the noun, only use one or two (no more!) and you need a comma in-between:

The brown, hairy bear was very hungry.

I can’t wait to read your colourful sentences! You can use colours to describe anything you want!!
