This week, we are going to be learning all about fractions! Hopefully you all remember that fractions are equal parts of a whole. If you’re not sure what that means, have a go through worksheet 1 to remind yourself.

The key thing to remember is that they are EQUAL parts. That means the parts have to be the same amount.

Remember, the top number (numerator) is the amount it asks you to colour in, and the bottom number (denominator) is the total number of parts in the shape. We’ll go over this some more tomorrow.

Have a go through the worksheets. If we have already done them in class, then see if you can do it from the website and write your answers in your Home Learning books.

*If you want some more practise with this, then click here to go onto the White Rose Maths Page. The first week (week 1) lessons 1 – 4 go over the same concepts so it might help to work through these activities as well.

*If you found the lesson okay, then have a go at this one from Oak Academy.  I would love to see some of your examples from the challenge. Can you make some non-examples of your own?
