As you know, yesterday we completed our review of fractions! So, today we will start a new maths topic on money!

Coins and Notes

In the UK we use a number of different coins called pounds and pence:

1p is the smallest amount of money we have in the UK. Pence is less than pounds.
Other places use different coins, like this one:

This is called a Euro.
In the UK we also use a variety of different notes:

This note is 10 Euros which is used in other European countries.

When you are completing the MNP worksheets, you might find it helpful to read the question carefully and work systematically. For example in this question, I crossed off the coins as I was counting them to avoid counting them more than once:

    I reviewed the work on pages 119-125 (including the challenge) on my Maths No Problem Orange book and I played a game to recognise coins (pounds and euros) with my mom.
