Today we are going to study Hans Zimmer, a famous music composer. We will find out more about his work and listen to some of his impressive pieces.

Composer: Hans Zimmer

Hans Zimmer (born 12 September 1957) is a German movie composer and music producer. He has written music for over 100 movies. These movies include The Lion King, Madagascar as well as TV programs like Blue Planet.

His film music combines the sound of traditional instruments with electronic and synthesize samples, allowing the orchestra to take us on new and bigger musical journeys. Journeys full of hypnotic chord patterns, driving rhythms and deep emotion.

    Yes, it made me think of earth ?, because the music fits in with the planet earth ? moving. I could hear piano ? violin ? cello.

    1. Yes, I did like the piece of music because it was with lots of different instruments
    2. when I was listening , it made me feel calm and joyful. It made me think of the plants growing on earth and the sun shining , and sometimes of the storm approaching
    3. It did make me think of Earth because there is a picture of Earth on the video and also it was loud and made me think that we need to protect the planet
    4. I heard some flute, violin, drums and a little bit of piano

    We listened with my dad a music he thought could be interesting. The title is Jupiter. It is one of the several movements of the orchestral suite “The Planets” written by Gustav Holst a British composer.

  9. I didn’t like it that much but it made me think of Earth because some parts of it were dramatic as if a animal was running away from a carnivore and there were some parts that were calm like space and the Earth orbiting around the sun.

    I really liked the piece of music because it was unique, emotional and glorious. It reminded me of ? ????????????. It made me think of earth because there were times were sad, dangerous and loving and in the piece of music it had all those emotions. I could hear ?????. I hear his music because me and my dad sometimes watches our planet and he composes the music.

  13. I like these pieces of music because they are all unique and it seems like they has several layers of diffrent sounds to reflect the purpose for wich they were created.

    It made me think about beautiful green grass fields.

    It made me think about the world because the music tells you how the world becomes diffrent throught the ages and times.

    I could hear violins, chelos, drums and orchestra.

    The things i didn’t like about the piece of music was that it was boring and dramatic.I don’t like dramatic music because it doesn’t sound nice to me .It was boring because it had a high pitch and they do it in a weird voice.It was also boring because it kept on repeating itself.

    Hello Patrick, you might be interested to hear that Hans Zimmer wrote the music for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, such an exciting soundtrack that was used in the Year 6 production of Treasure Island ?

    I could hear a choir ??, violin, piano, a bit of soft trumpet and cello.?

    I liked it because it was calming and reminded me about God’s nature. The music was energetic and it felt like the animals were running with the nature .
    I could hear traditional instruments mixed with electronic music .

    When I was listening to Earth II by Hans Zimmer I enjoyed it very much. It made me think how beautiful our planet is. When I heard the music triangle I was thinking of sparkling water, our oceans, seas and rivers. When I heard the drums I was in the mountains. I heard as well piano, strings, flute and choir. It was making me feel calm. I imagined that I’m flying above the trees and the grass. I was flying higher and higher in to the clouds. When the rhythm of calm music went faster I was imagining a hopping little bunny ? ?

    The planet earth music does sounds like it because it is calm and when you think of animals it makes you think like you are in a world filled with animals.???

  27. When I was listening to the song I enjoyed it and it made me think of the different sounds you hear in nature. It also made me think of earth because some the sounds were like the ocean and water noises. The instruments I heard were the violin, harp, symbols and xylophone.

    It makes me think of the earth, because it makes me dream about some lovely landscapes.

    It also makes me think of joy and sadness. But most of all joy.

    I saw a piano, drums and violin.
