Today’s task is to find as many different numbers as you can in your home*.

How many did you find?

Where did you find them?

Which ones do you recognise?

Did you find more than one of the same number?

  1. We found lots of numbers: 09.48 on mummy’s phone, 21 on the newspaper, 06 on the car, 3 on the cheese, 28 on the yoghurt, 30, 40 and 60 on the washing machine and 87 on the house. Lots of numbers on mummy’s computer – Grace shouted 7 and 8!
    Grace recognised 3, 7, 8, and 9. The higher numbers had to be explained to her. She didn’t recognise the same numbers much though and was confused thinking 21 was 12.

  2. Dear Miss Siswick,

    I found numbers on my Lightening MacQueen blanket, on the pages of books, alarm clock, my bath numbers (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), mummy’s calendar, puzzle boxes, some board games (bus stop). Sometimes it was the same number which we found.

    I recognised all the numbers from 0 to 9.

    My older sister helped me with this task 🙂

    We found lots but counted 10

    The clock! it was 10.30!

    Yes the washing machine and dryer both had 40 on them

  4. 1) We found 15 numbers in total
    2) On boxes (packaging) and hand made toys using packaging, and I had to show mummy the numbers on her computer. We took photos then counted them up at the end
    3) I recognised all my numbers. Mummy was v happy
    4) Yes, no 4 we found 5 times, 2 we found 3 times, 10 we found twice, 3 we found twice and we found 2 zeros. We did not count mummy’s computer numbers.

  5. James is having a 15min break/gone to play and is now returning finding numbers on his toys. I’m impressed. Thank you Miss Siswick.

  6. We found many numbers in the kitchen : on products, on our calendar, on my car toy (what is this car doing in the kitchen?), even on our broom (but we couldn’t see any witch riding it!).

    It was a bit of a struggle so we practice singing : if I can count it with my fingers it is a number and we jumped. If I can use it to make a word it is a letter and we made a roly poly.

    Wow! So many numbers. Remember that sometimes I would put the number song on for you to listen to while tidying up sometimes? Well you can see the numbers too if you get Mummy or Daddy to type in Big Number Song on YouTube. One trillion!

  8. I found numbers on my Puzzle Boxes (3+, 4+, 5+), on Kidzania play money, on my kitchen set grocery jars, and in my brother’s piano book.

    I can recognize 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and +.

  10. Hello, we found numbers everywhere, on my toy till, on my toy cars, on daddy t-shirt, on my doll’s label, on the clocks, on my toy telephone and on books.

  11. Caspian is good with numbers he found a lot of numbers on the TVs remote control , in the kitchen and on the dice .

    Caspian can count one to thirty and put in order one to twenty and does recognise different number like 100.

    Caspian posted a picture of his favourite car with number 95 which he recognise any where .

  12. I found lots of numbers today. I found numbers on lots of my toys.

    I found numbers on the kitchen oven (180). I counted the numbers from 1-9. I found numbers 1, 3, 4 and 9 on my Lego.

    I found all the numbers on my clock 1-12.

    I recognised all the numbers I found. Some numbers were the same on different toys. I just kept finding more and more numbers everywhere!

    I found and recognised:

    1-5 years on the duplo box
    4 in a row game
    5+ on jigsaw box
    2-4 players and ages 5-8 on the Monopoly box
    The numbers on the ruler from 0-10
    1 egg and 3 bars on the Easter egg box- but they are eaten now!

    I found numbers on our front door, on our tv remote control, on my number chart, on the clock on the oven, on the till in my shop, on the telephone and on the clock in the bedroom.

    5, written by Heloise for me
    1, 2, 3 in her piano book
    8, 4, 3 in a newspaper
    5 on a pound note
    1, 2 on the intercom
    10.13 on the oven clock
    1, 2, 3, 4, 0 on a measuring cup
    12.30 on our daily schedule

    I found the following numbers:
    £4 on a pack of grapes,
    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 on a clock,
    4 on our flat’s door.

  25. Joey found a 3 on a battery and a 2 on a pencil.
