Good Morning Year 2!

Click here for a printable version of this blog post: Monday PSHE printable

I hope you are all well and had a fun half term with your families. I am missing seeing you all each day and hope you are keeping safe. I can’t believe it’s June today – we’ve been apart for so long now!

Today all the staff are back at school, trying to make the school safe for when children are allowed back. This means that I won’t be able to approve or respond to your comment straight away – but please still post! I can’t wait to read all your work when we’re finished at school.

Last time we did a PSHE blog, lots of you wrote in to say all the fun things you have been doing. You might want to click here to go back to it and read what your friends have said and write them a reply.

There are also links on the last blog which give you some help if you are a little worried about anything. Remember you can always talk to the adults in your house or write a message in our worry box

What have you done this half term?

Tell us your favourite thing that you did last week. What did you do? Who was it with? Why did you enjoy it so much? Send in photos of what you have been up to so that we can see all of your smiling faces! It is so nice to be able to see each other and what we have been up to!

Online learning for this term:

This term, I’ll still be posting 3 activities and lessons for you to do each day. As you will know, starting later this week, some classes are back at school. This means that in the mornings, I’ll be busy helping to teach them because they need to be in smaller groups.

But I’ll look forward each day to after lunch when I can go onto the school website, read all your comments and respond to your work. Sorry that I can’t reply immediately, but keep up the hard work!

So I need your help! What would you like more of? Which activities have you particularly enjoyed? If you let me know, then I can make sure we can do more of them!

I’m so looking forward to hearing about your half term and what you would like to do during this term.

Missing you all,

Miss Carruthers x

I went to Hyde Park and met Isabella and Emilia. We walked around a duck? lake ? and saw lots of interesting things. We saw tadpoles? and five baby ducks ?with a mummy and daddy. We also saw a swan sitting on her eggs waiting for them to hatch?. The daddy swan was standing near by. It was nice to see my friends and we took a group selfie together when I was holding the phone. We had to stand apart because of coronavirus but it was still fun.

I like writing about stories best for homework.

I enjoyed spending time with my sister and building new things with K’nex.

  20. Miss Carruthers says:

How fun! What is your favourite thing that you have built?

  21. I love the piano you built with k’nex Kristian. It must have taken a lot of thoughtful planning to make that.

  22. I enjoyed reading Harry Potter with my dad on our balcony. Dad had to clean the balcony first because a pigeon had pooed on it. I helped with my water pistol, it was so much fun. I like going on the balcony because it is nice to get some fresh air and see the rest of the building.

  23. Miss Carruthers says:

You’re very lucky to have a balcony to enjoy this sunshine! Keep up the reading and helping your dad clean.

  24. I would love to have seen you cleaning your balcony Finley. You make cleaning sound so much fun.

I went on a long walk with my Dad for over an hour on a sunny day and got an ice cream.

I played a board game called Cluedo with my Mum.

I enjoyed the poem and letter writing activities. I would like more DT and PE activities please!

  26. Miss Carruthers says:

That sounds like such a special walk! I’ll try and do some more DT and PE activities in different lessons.

  27. What a lovely time you had Catherine. I like Cluedo too.

  28. Kristian says:

Miss Carruthers, my favourite things to build were motorised basketball hoop and carnival ride.

Miss C, I found the picture of K’nex piano on the internet.
