Good Morning, Reception.

I hope that you all had a lovely half term holiday.

Today, we are going to practice reading and answering questions using some of the phonemes and tricky words that we focussed on last term.

Can you read and answer these questions out loud?

Choose three of the questions to write the answers to.  I would like to see you writing in pencil, using your phonics sounds and tricky words without a grown up helping you. Don’t forget your finger spaces!

Challenge: Can you write two of your own questions for me to answer?

I am looking forward to reading your independent writing today.

Love from Miss Siswick. (I will be at school so I will not be able to respond until  later today.)

PRINTABLE VERSION:R Phonics Monday

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.

  1. Good Morning Miss,

    My questions are:
    Is the sky orange?
Do frogs jump in the clouds?
    🙂
I uploaded picture to the school blog.

  2. Amber completed her phonics work fine. We sent a picture. An interesting debate happened with Daddy when he heard Amber talking about sharks being unable to jump up trees. Daddy said tree sharks could jump but Amber decided on her own answer.

  3. Ryan read the questions – the word thunderstorms was the only challenging part.

He wrote down the answers and two questions for you Mis Siswick using his own spellings:

    What is your favourite season
What is your favourite month of the year

  4. Can teddies play with blankets?

    Can a window move?

Can a ladder move to a house?

  5. Dear Miss Siswick, Chiara can’t wait to see you tomorrow
    we read the sentences

    -no the moon is white

    Hello miss siswick,
We sent you a picture! We read all the sentences on our own.

  7. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, all of you. I am looking forward to seeing your photos when I get home as I can’t do it on my phone. All of the teachers have been at school today, getting ready for you. We are looking forward to seeing lots of you tomorrow.

  8. Hi, Marcus was happy to do his phonics today, I think he’s actually missed it!
