Good Morning, Reception.

We have been practicing the tricky words and the digraphs ‘ch’,  ‘sh’,  ‘th’ and ‘ng’ Don’t forget to keep looking out for them when you are reading a range of  books.

Today, we are going to practice the digraph ‘qu’. A diagraph means two letters together which make one sound.

Practice saying the sound ‘qu’ and making the ‘qu’ action.

Can you read these words?

Can you write these words?

Can you use the words in a sentence?

Challenge: Can you think of any more words with the ‘qu’ sound?

I know that Geraldine the Giraffe is very popular so here she is learning the ‘qu’ sound too! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mYGGk0MH_xQ

I am looking forward to hearing all about your phonics today.
Love from Miss Siswick

PRINTABLE VERSION:R Phonics Wednesday

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.
