Good Morning, Reception.

Our new Religious Education topic is ‘Friends’.

I loved hearing about your friends on Monday. I know that you are all missing your friends at the moment but hopefully you will be able to see each other again very soon.

Friends are very important.
Friends look after and do things for each other.
Friends do things together.
Friends make each other happy.

Today, we are going to think about how to make friends again when things go wrong.

Look at this picture of two friends:

What do you think has happened?

How do you think the boy is feeling? How do you know?

How do you think the girl feels? How do you know?

What do you think should happen next?

Look at the next picture:

What do you think has happened?

How do you think the boy is feeling? How do you know?

How do you think the girl feels? How do you know?

How can we make friends again when things go wrong?

Can you draw and label a picture to share your answer?

I am looking forward to hearing from you today.
Love from Miss Siswick.

PRINTABLE VERSION:R RE Wednesday

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.

  1. Philippa says:

    Good morning!
We looked at the pictures and we think the boy fell from the scooter and he is sad, we know this because he is crying. The girl is angry, you can tell because of her face and because she is crossing her arms.
We think they run into each other or she push him.
To make things right she has to say sorry and help him get his scooter up.
In the last picture they look happy, you can tell because they are smiling and they are friends again.
When things go wrong we have to say sorry and help our friends, by making things right.
We made a drawing of 2 friends, one angry and one sad. They we wrote down what they had to do to be happy again.
    We sent you a picture!

  2. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Philippa. You have thought carefully about what friends could do to make things right again.

  3. Good morning
Rocco looked at the picture and he thinks that the girl threw the ball at the boy and that he fell off the scooter
He thinks that the boy is sad because he is rubbing his eyes and crying
He thinks that the girl is feeling miserable – “she looks like she is miserable because she has her arms together”
They should say sorry to each other and maybe shake hands
In the second picture they have made friends again
Rocco thinks the boy is “feeling good” because he looks happy
Rocco also thinks the girl is feeling good because she is smiling and helping the boy

  4. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Rocco. You have thought carefully about this.

  5. He was on his scooter and fell because he hit the ball. The girl feels crossed because it’s her ball. The boy looks sad because he hurt himself and he is crying. The girl is angry, I can see it on her face and her arms are crossed. They should play together after and say sorry. On the last picture, they are playing together again. They are smiling and the girl is also helping the boy with his scooter.
When things go wrong with your friend, call the teacher, you should help them to stand up, say “I like you” and say “sorry”.
Two children bumped into each other, they hurt themselves and are crying, I am calling the teacher who brings plaster and an ice pack, after that they all feel better.

  6. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Maya. You have thought carefully about this.

  7. Good morning.
James thinks the boy and the girls are friends and had an argument. The boy is very sad as he is crying and the girl looks very upset because she looks angry and is crossing her arms.
James thinks they should share toys so they can be happy again.
On the second picture they are friends again and they look very happy because they are both smiling and walking next to each other.

To make friends again when things go wrong we can share toys, share sweets, give them a teddy, offer to play with them, or give them a hug, share a snack and the most important is we need to say sorry.
    James

  9. Good afternoon!
Theo looked at the picture and he said:
    1. I think the girl didn’t want to share the toys with the boy.
    2. I think the boy feels upset because he is crying.
    3. I think the girl feels very angry.
    4. I think they have to speak with each other and be friends again.
    5. They are friends together, they are smiling
    6. I think the boy feels happy
    7. The girl also feels happy

  10. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Theo. You have thought carefully about this.

  11. Hello,
Nico thinks that the girl threw the ball and hit the boy who fell from the scooter. The girl is angry. Nico could tell from the look of her face. The boy is sad because he’s crying. Nico thinks that if the girl says she’s sorry to the boy, they can be happy and friends again.

  12. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Nicolas. You have thought carefully about the pictures.

  13. Hi, Marcus thought the girl had kicked the ball into the boy and knocked him off his scooter. He wrote his answers in his home learning book. He drew a picture of friends who have fallen out with each other and how they could make up afterwards. We sent photos…

  14. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Marcus. You have thought carefully about this.
