Religious Education Big Question: How do I grow to be more like Jesus?

Good Friday

The day on which Jesus died is called ‘Good Friday’.

On Good Friday people go to church to remember Jesus and to listen to the story of how he died.

Read John 19:25-27 with your family.

Think about these questions;

How did Jesus die?

Who was there with him?

What did he say to them? How do you think they felt?

Who was Jesus thinking about?

What does the story tell you about Jesus?

What does the story tell you about Mary?

What does the story tell you about John?

Ask an adult to respond to these questions on our blog, you could also write some of your answers in you home learning book.

  1. Jesus died on the cross.
    His mother Mary, Mary of Magdala, Mary the wife of Cleopas and John were with him.
    He told Mary that John will be his son and he told John to take care about Mary as his mother from now. Both of them felt sad but may be happy as well that Jesus asked them to take care of each other.
