I hope you are all enjoying your topic about Plants!

I know you can label all of the parts of the plant and tell me the things plants need to keep alive.

Have a look at this video to help you recap your learning!

This post is about prediction – this means what you think might happen.

Have a look at this picture. The celery has been put in coloured water. What do you think might happen to the celery?

Why do you think this will happen?

Use the sentence starter – I predict that…

Try and use the word because

How to grow celery from a stalk! Celery needs lots of sun to grow so if you have any celery in your home already you could do this experiment and put it by the window to grow.

Remember to ask an adult at home for help!

  1. I predict that the celery will drink the different coloured water. When the celery drinks the green water it will turn green. When the celery drinks the red water it will turn red. When the celery drinks the yellow water it will turn yellow. I think this because if we put celery in normal clear water we know that it doesn’t change colour, like plants drink normal water and they don’t change colour.

    Good predictions!
You can get celery to grow by cutting off the long stalks of the celery. Then you put the bottom bit of the celery in some water but don’t cover it! After 5 or 7 days new green shoots should begin to grow. You can then plant the celery in some soil to let it grow even more!
I will update the blog to show you with pictures!
