This week we will be celebrating World Book Day on Wednesday 1st March and we will call it St Vincent’s Book Day!

We love to promote reading at St Vincent’s and celebrating Book Day is a fantastic way to reflect on all of our favourite authors and stories we love!

  1. My favourite book is The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch! I like this story because the pesky seagulls make me laugh when they take Mr Grinling’s lunch every day! I like the part when Mrs Grinling puts mustard in the sandwiches and it scares the seagulls away!

  2. My favourite book is The Gruffalo. It is my favourite because I like conversation between the mouse and the gruffalo. I liked it when the mouse tracked the gruffalo.

  3. My favourite book is Curious George. I like when George takes the zoo keeper’s key, hides behind the elephant’s and then escapes the zoo.

  4. My favorite book is Isadora Moon. I like it because she’s half fairy and half vampire. Her mom is a fairy and her dad is a vampire. And I also like Mirabelle because she does bad stuff and tricks Isadora Moon sometimes by doing bad stuff. Mirabelle is half fairy and half witch. Her mom’s a witch and her dad’s a fairy. Both Isadora Moon and Mirabelle are magical.

  5. My favourite book is “Zauberhafter Vorlesespass” this is one of my German books, the name in English is “Magical Reading Fun”. There are lots of stories in the book and my favourite one is “Arielle, die Meerjunfrau” it is all about the little mermaid and her friends and the secret of the starfish.

  6. My favourite story is Beauty and the Beast,and my favourite character is Princess Belle.I like this story because it teaches true kindness and love despite the outer appearance.JAE

  7. My favorite book is The Princess and The Pea. I like it because the girl is a real princess and I really like princesses. I also like it because it is a happy story.

  8. My favourite book is ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson. I like how different characters come together to become friends. It’s a book about friendship and teamwork.

  9. I like the book Mr. Happy. I like this book because I like the time when Mr. Happy meets Mr. Grumpy. Mr. Grumpy is very grumpy but Mr. Happy makes Mr. Grumpy smile! Being happy is about being positive. I like being happy!

  10. My favourite book is The little Mermaid because I like the fact that two different people from two different worlds can come together and love one another.

  11. My favourite book is We’re going to find the monster! I like it beacause they go on an adventure to try and find the monster and then they discover that the big brother was playing tricks on them all along!

  12. My favourite book is The Tiger Who Came to Tea. I like that the girl opens the door to see the tiger who came to tea. It was very funny when he ate all the food and drank tea, water and milk.

  13. I love the spider man book because it is full of fun, his adventures using the spider webs is incredible. He uses his spider senses and my favourite part of the book is when he deceive green goblin.

  14. My favourite book is Ella Bella Ballerina and The Sleeping Beauty! Not only is the main character named Ella it’s also I love dancing like a ballerina. Reading this book is a very personal experience for me!!

  15. I love reading Little people big dreams Autobiography David Attenborough is my favourite share his love for nature, but also really love Mohammed Ali too.

  16. My favourite book is Beauty and the Beast,and my favourite character is Princess Belle because it portrays true kindness love and patient which the whole world needs and these virtues show us the true nature of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

    I never forget once I was in a Portugal we went to the library and I found a book called Nibbles the book monster written by Emma Yarlet it become my favourite book to read for the children it is fun and mischievous.

  18. My favourite book is ‘where is Gruffalo’.
    I like the mouse and trying to look for the gruffalo in the book by using all the pop up objects and searching in the forest. There is also a snake hiding inside the rocks and has different animals throughout the journey.

I like this book because the dog is not like others dogs.he likes music and walking on his tiptoes.he think he’s a ballerina.this story makes me happy especially when the dog wears a tutu and performs in front of the audience.i always like to read this story with my daddy because he always makes me laugh a lot.

    Hello Reception. One of my favourite books is ‘The Lion who wanted to Love’ by Giles Andreae and David Wojtowycz. The lion’s mummy wants him to be fierce and brave. All the lion wants is to be friends with the other animals, not eat them. It is a lovely book that always makes me cry!

    My favourite book is ‘Five Minutes’ Peace’ by Jill Murphy (‘Mrs Trumpet’s Bath’ in French). My godmother gave it to me for my birthday. Mrs Trumpet wants to have a quiet bath and breakfast in the morning. She prepares her breakfast and goes into the bathroom. Then her children come and make a mess. Baby Elephant puts his bunny in the bath and picks it up with his nose. 🐘 it is a small book. I like it a lot.

  22. My favourite book is ‘ The very silly safari collection’ by Jack Tickle, because a lots of jungle animals are hiding in this book. They are moving when i turn the pages. It’s very funny.

  23. My favourite book is Sam’s Sandwich. It’s about a boy who puts different mini beasts in his sister’s sandwich! I’d like to read it to you all one day. It’s very funny.
    When I was little I liked Ferdinand the Bull. I liked it because Ferdinand didn’t want to fight like the other bulls but wanted to sit under the trees and smell the flowers.

    My favourite book is ‘The Tickle Book’ by Alex Sheffler. It is a fun rhyming book and it was a present from my auntie Ana when I was a baby. The Tickle monster is tickling all his animal friends on the train, on the farm, even the penguins in the zoo. My favourite part is when the tickle monster suddenly pops out and tickles me – it is usually my mummy or daddy who act as a tickle monster and tickles me all over. I never know where he is hiding. I really like this book and everyone should read it. Isabelle

    My favourite book is The Lighthouse Keeper Mystery because the pesky seagulls get the rubbish that was in the basket that Mr Grinling put on the wire to the little house on the cliff.
