Good Morning Year 6!

Are you able to help me please? Online learning is a new way of teaching and we are continually looking for ways to improve it. So today, I need you to tell me what blogs and activities you have enjoyed so that I can set more of them!

Have a look back on the blogs to remember! Click here!

Some questions to think about:

  1. Which activities have you liked the most? Why?
  2. If you could choose an activity to do, that hasn’t already been done, what would it be?
  3. Which activities have you been able to do without your parents help?
  4. Which websites have you enjoyed using?

Please let me know so that I can make your Home Learning even better!

Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy 🙂

I’m sorry that you’re having trouble Charles. I have tried on my laptop (chrome) and it took a while to load but is now working. However, the site is very slow. I wonder if they are updating their resources? I will keep checking

  4. Works again. Safari must’ve checked the site while the tab was open. Thanks!

  5. I really liked writing sentences in Braille as it was fun.
I would also like to do a creative task.

  6. Good morning Miss Gorick and Miss Healy!
I really enjoyed talking about different artists and creating my own roller coaster, I would love a creativity task which involves using your imagination to inspire what you make.

  7. Like Ariella and Sergio said I would like to do an arts and crafts task.
I have also enjoyed doing the maths challenges in the mornings!

  8. Good morning!

I would also really enjoy some creative Art and DT projects.
Like Sergio, I found writing in Braille very interesting and fun! Maybe we could try morse code next? ?

  9. Are we still going to be using Google Classrooms? To know if I should if I should download the App or not.

  12. Good Morning Miss Gorick and Miss Healy,
    1. The activity I liked the most was Art about surrealist painters. I enjoyed telling you about my favourite painting which was the Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali.

    3. I didn’t get help from my parents.

We have really enjoyed the blogs, but it does feel very different, and we feel it can be better. Judging by the first looks of the update for work, it seems to be getting better, but we feel that online classes will make it more comfortable for our class. Take a meeting platform like zoom for instance, it can be great for the entire class. We understand that it is Miss Coleman’s choice, and that you may have already presented this, but this is our feedback. We’ve been thinking and it’s very different because we don’t learn as much as we do in class, but we do understand that it’s to help us not lose practice. We’ll let you know about anything else after we see the maths tomorrow.

Good morning Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy I hope you have had a superb half term break and weekend.
    1) I liked doing the daily SPAG and sharing a piece of our writing to the class as it encouraged me to add a bit more to my writing piece to make it even better.
    2) If I had to choose an activity to do which I haven’t already done it would be some more Reading Comprehension as it would help me build more of my confidence in answering the questions with ease.
    3) I have been able to do my reading comprehension and most of my algebra without needing any help but I’m still struggling a bit with the ratio. However, I can see now that I’m getting better each time I do some questions including ratio.
    4) I mostly enjoyed using Mathletics as you added much more bars to complete so I don’t just watch TV in the evenings or mornings. Instead i go straight to Mathletics while I wait until my mum wakes up. I don’t think you need to change any of the websites as they are all very helpful and easy to work with.

  15. 1] I like doing art because we can learn about different art skills and knowledge of the artist

2] I think you do not really need to change anything in Mathletics since there is a lot to do. I enjoy getting my certificates as well 😛

3] I also enjoy doing the big questions.

  16. I enjoyed the science task
    An art or history project
    The Lowry art task
    I have enjoyed using J2e

  17. Good after Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy,
I enjoyed doing all the activities, but I really liked the Art and maths challenges the most. Like Chiara and Sergio, I liked the braille alphabet, I found it very interesting. I have been using BBC bitesize to help with my work and I have done most of the activities with little to no help from my parents!

  18. I would like to do more writing in braille.

  19. Good day Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy,

Thank you for this message and all the work you had to do to prepare those home learning pages.

I find it hard to keep up with the work on the website and I wonder if it would be possible to do lessons on Zoom or another app. I have friends who do that.

    thank you.

Good afternoon Miss Gorick and Miss Healy,
    1. I really like the morning maths problems because they give me a boost and get my head working at the start of the day ( although sometimes I can’t work them out )
    2. I’d really like to do arts and craft because I love doing arts and crafts, but I’m never sure what to do.
    3. Not always but sometimes my parents know some interesting facts about what I’m working on, so I sometimes ask them.
    4. I like Mathletics because it’s sometimes challenging for me, but I keep going on, I really need help on mixed numbers, I can’t get it right.

  21. ?Timothy? says:

I like art because I find it helpful to learn about different art techniques.

I think that maybe we could have some online tasks? as they are less time consuming as well as the fact that I do it for my tuition.

  22. Miss Gorick says:

    Hi all 🙂
Thank you for your comments-your feedback is really useful! Maths will be starting tomorrow-you should all have a Maths No Problem login.

  23. Miss Coleman says:

    Dear Year 6,
Thank you for all your comments- these are really useful.
I’m impressed at your independent learning. Keep up the good work!
    Take care,
    Miss Coleman

  24. I agree with ariella and sergio and jade and chiara and gabriel and anahi because I would lOvE to do more tasks on arts and crafts/ art/ D&T

  25. Jeanne Yr 6 says:

    Hello Miss Gorick
I have enjoyed everything, it has been very weird during this time so thank you for helping.
I mostly enjoyed all the extra tasks apart from maths and SPaG because everyday is something new and even more fun than the one before.I have also enjoyed the book we are reading since coming back
I was wondering how you were going to mark our work if we do not come back?

  26. Miss Gorick says:

Hi Jeanne 🙂 Thank you for your comment. It certainly is a very weird time isn’t it. Some days I feel sad and some days I feel better so I find it’s important to find things that cheer me up, like getting some fresh air or cooking!
That’s a good question. At the moment, I’m still very much hoping that we will be able to come back to school. Otherwise we will work out a way! If you want to send a picture of your writing etc, please do!

  27. Jeanne Yr 6 says:

    Thank you miss!

  28. Good morning!
I enjoy reading the book ‘the girl who stole an elephant’ ,and also answering the questions. I also liked doing the maths no problem. ?

I also wanted to know if we are going to use online clasroom, because there is no work on it, and I really wanted to use it.?
