  1. Isabel Fitzpatrick says:

My favourite traditional tale from Ireland, is the Salmon of Knowledge. It is about a boy called Finn McCool who went to live with an old man. The old man spent his whole life trying to catch the Salmon of Knowledge, because whoever ate the salmon would know everything there was to know in the world.

One day the old man caught the salmon, Finn went to cook the salmon, burnt and licked his thumb while cooking the salmon and absorbed the knowledge from the salmon.

Finn is my favourite character because he went on to be the hero of Ireland.

My favourite traditional tale is The Magic Porridge Pot. It is a pot that never stops giving. I will read it to you all and see what you would ask the pot for if you could. But we have to remember not to be too greedy!
