This week in Art, Year 1 began exploring the colour! We started by learning about the primary colours which are red, yellow and blue and discovered how these colours can be mixed together to create secondary colours.
The children learnt how to use a colour wheel to show the relationships between different colours. They used paint to carefully add the primary colours to their colour wheels before experimenting with mixing them together. They were excited to see how red and yellow make orange, yellow and blue make green, and blue and red make purple.
The children did a fabulous job carefully mixing their paints and creating their own colourful colour wheels. It was lovely to see them experimenting and discovering how new colours can be created.
