Year 1 had a lovely session of child-led worship this week! We focused on the value of kindness through the Book of John 13:34-35. The session followed the following structure:
Gather
To begin, we listened to hymns while we gathered silently into a circle on the floor. We made the sign of the cross and said the school prayer.
Word
Todays reading highlighted the importance of loving one another and being kind to all.
Response
All of the children held a precious stone while they thought of a way they can be kind and caring to their classmates. Once they had thought of something they placed their stone at the foot of the cross.
Mission
The students pledged that if they saw someone who looked sad or needed someone to play with at break time and lunchtime then they would go up and play with them.
Well done year 1. You look like you have been very sensible and quiet while the child-led worship.
