Today, Year 1 had their first computing lesson in the ICT suite!
Everyone was very excited to be using the computers, after learning all about technology and what this means in school. For our first computing lesson we were not in the ICT suite, but in the classroom looking at all of the things that have been made by a human to help us. The children had a technology hunt in the classroom, and found so many things that have been made to help us!
We know that natural things that grow such as plants, trees and flowers, and physical features in the world such as mountains, rivers and seas were not made to help us, but made by God. Therefore, they are not technology as they have not been made by humans! We have also been learning about this during our Geography lessons, where we have been differentiating human and physical features in Marylebone. The children completed a sorting activity, where human features such as Marylebone High Street and Paddington Street Gardens were to go in one category, and physical features such as Mountains, rivers and seas were to go on another category!
However, in our second computing lesson we went to the ICT suite to learn more about technology and use the computers! Our focus this lesson was how to use the mouse, clicking the mouse and holding something to drag it on the screen. The first step was to log into the computer, which is a tricky task! Then to find the right programme and play a game where they finish puzzles by clicking and dragging pictures into the right place. It was a great lesson as the class had the best time on the computers, and trying their best to use the mouse and keyboard as much as they could.

I enjoyed my computer class today. I played a puzzle game which I enjoyed!
I remember my first day in the ICT suite like it was yesterday. I was so excited and happy to be there. I love computing lessons.

We had so much fun in ICT last week. We loved learning how to use the mouse to complete our puzzles! We can’t wait until our next ICT lesson.

I loved the ICT Suite, I really loved logging in using my own name and doing the puzzles too. It was great and I’m looking forward to going again on Friday.
I was looking forward to have my computing lessons it was fantastic I had so much fun. I have been practising at home but using a different type of mouse in the school was also an update skills. Also liked to log in using my password.
I loved the game when we connected the pictures. I also really like my password. I will never forget it!
I liked playing games in the computer room especially doing puzzles. That’s lots of fun! 😍
