This afternoon, Year 6 enjoyed a special workshop with the Wallace Collection.

It was fascinating to explore armour that was over 500 years old and we learnt that armour was not only used for combat but also for tournaments. We explored two armouries, the European Armoury and the Oriental Armoury. We compared the differences in decoration between European Armour and Oriental armour and it was amazing to see a dagger from India that was made of gold, rubies, emeralds and

We explored many artefacts and portraits and spotted the following components of armour: gauntlet, gorget, helmet, sword and a sabaton

We had a super afternoon and certainly learnt many new things. Thank you to the Wallace Collection for delivering such an informative and interactive workshop!

Thank you to the Wallace Collection for putting on this fabulous workshop!

  1. Hi everyone,
I really enjoyed learning about these types of armour. My favourite part was learning about a danger from India!!
