Over the last two weeks, Class 5 have been enjoying their class text ‘ The Lost Thing’ by Shaun Tan.

We have really loved reading this wonderful story. We enjoyed making our own ‘lost things’ and then using modal verbs to write instructions on how to look after them. We also used expanded noun phrases to describe our lost things to help them become found!Β

We created freeze frames in class to show how ‘the boy’ and the the ‘Lost Thing’ felt when they said goodbye to each other in the story. Then we used emotion adjectives to write a letter as one of these characters. We enjoyed reading these letters out to our friends in our class.

Finally, we have written our very own stories about a ‘lost thing’ which include character descriptions, fronted adverbials and interesting vocabulary.
Miss Lee is very proud of all of our hard work! πŸ™‚Β
