This week, we have been taking part in St Vincent’s annual Enterprise Week!

We have spent our time sharing and collaborating our ideas as we came up with our own company name and logo. We knew that we were going to be selling Christmas decorations to the other classes so we had to be creative in order to convince others that our product was worth buying. We eventually decided that ‘Class 2 Christmas Cheer’ would be the best name for our company, along with some fantastic logo designs.

In our English, we looked at the importance of persuasive writing and writing for a purpose. We knew that we wanted the other classes to buy our product but we needed to persuade them with an interesting and exciting advert. We worked as a class to create our script, using interesting adjectives to describe our colourful Christmassy decoration. Once we had done this, and made our posters, we put our acting hats on and helped to create an advert that was sure to win over the others.

In Maths, we have focused on money. We have been able to identify different coins and their values and we have also considered the way that we can add a variety of different coins to total the same amount. We have even looked at adding pounds and pennies! We found this quite tricky but by the end of the week, we were fairly confident in our abilities. This has shown how great our resilience is in Class 2. We have talked a lot about our learning powers and have seen the way that we can use these to help us with our work. During Enterprise Week, we have all shown fantastic resourcefulness, reciprocity, and reflectiveness in addition to our resilience. We think that we have shown great reciprocity when making and producing our product as we have worked brilliantly in teams, with a dedicated Project Manager to oversee our efforts.

We were also really fortunate this week, in that some special visitors came to see us. We had two parents come and tell us all about their important jobs. We were able to ask really insightful questions which helped us better understand why they chose those careers. We found it really useful and interesting to speak to them and to learn more about the different types of jobs that we might be able to have in the future!

We have loved this week and we have demonstrated such maturity when it comes to working well together, sharing, and supporting one another.

Well done for your fantastic work this half term, Year 2. I am continually so impressed and proud of you all! I hope that you have a lovely half term.
