After a challenging half term we are thrilled to share some good news with you-we have successful renewed our Eco School Green Flag! On Friday we received the following message:
Thank you very much for your recent Green Flag application, I am very pleased to say your school has passed. Congratulations on achieving your Eco-Schools Green Flag!
I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you for continuing to work on your Eco-Schools Green Flag during these unprecedented times- it is a true reflection of your schools determination to make a real difference. If possible please pass on my thanks to your Eco-Committee (Green Team).
This is a huge team effort and every member of our school family contributes to our efforts to be an Eco-School but special thanks are due to our Green Team and to Mrs Knowler for all their hard work. Congratulations!!
The Eco-Schools programme is an ideal way for schools to embark on a meaningful path towards improving the environment in both the school and the local community while at the same time having a life-long positive impact on the lives of young people and their families. Introduced in 1994 in response to the 1992 UN Rio Earth Summit, Eco-Schools is operated globally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and is managed in England by Keep Britain Tidy. Topics studied include marine, biodiversity, energy, litter, global citizenship, healthy living, school grounds, transport, waste and water. We study all of these at St.Vincent’s.
Remember to always follow our Green Charter and enjoy a green half term!
