We have introduced inter sports competitions to give the children the opportunity to apply the skills they learn in PE to a competitive context. Since the beginning of the summer term, the sport of choice is football and each year group from Year 2 to Year 6 have been divided into four teams (green team, red team, yellow team and blue team) to play each other during lunchtimes and playtimes. The matches are refereed by our sports coach from QPR with each match being between 7 and 10 minutes long. Children are encouraged to develop their teamwork skills and sportsmanship as well as their tactical awareness and technique.

The pictures below show Year 6 Yellow team playing against the Year 6 green team.

By the end of the term, each team will have played each other four times and the scores of each match are recorded. See below the league table as things stood at half term. At the end of this term, the league table will be updated and the first inter sports winners for each year group will be announced!
