Over the past two week Year 3 have been learning about time in Mathematics.

We have been busy learning how to read digital and analogue clocks and telling the time in am and pm.

Year 3 have worked so hard to remember the number of seconds in a minute and the number of days in each month, year and leap year which we used to solve some tricky problems involving the number of minutes, hours and even days of a period of time. It was also exciting to tackle real-life scenario problems about the durations of time involving the hours and minutes passed as well as the number of weeks between different months.

In our lessons we have been using toy clocks to help us with these problems. There was also lots of fantastic reciprocity demonstrated by many of the children who worked together on some questions.

I am so proud of how resilient you have been in Mathematics during this topic. You have used the concepts we have learnt earlier in the year to help you and made some fantastic progress!

What did you enjoy learning about during our time unit in Mathematics?
