We are continuing to explore our topic of Mini-Beasts, and have been using our new knowledge of caterpillars and ladybirds to help us in maths!

In our Maths lessons we have been completing ‘Caterpillar Counting!’. Nursery have been practicing recognising numbers 1-10, and counting using 1:1 correspondence.  They were given a caterpillar face for each number, they had to use their fingers to paint the correct amount of spots for each caterpillar body.

We have also been using our lovely ladybird cushions to support our understanding of number. Each of our ladybird cushions has a different number of spots. The task was to count the ladybirds spots, and match this amount to the correct number. This was a fun way to demonstrate our knowledge and understanding, whilst also exploring outside in the sunshine!

Well done Nursery!
