In our music lesson this week, we got to explore a range of different instruments that we all got a chance to play. Mr Hylton introduced us to a rhythm circle which is when one person starts off the rhythm by playing their instrument and then the person next to them has to come in alongside the rhythm as well. They have to play their instrument to contrast the sound already being played with the aim of going around the whole circle (30 children) and creating one big Year 4 rhythm.

This took lots of concentrating as we had to watch and listen to the rhythm as it was going round the circle. This was to let us know when we had to start playing our own instrument. After we have managed one complete circle, we got to try a different musical instrument and have another go at completing the rhythm circle. We were so good that we managed to go round the circle without any mistakes a few times. You could hear the wonderful sounds all the way up on the roof!

Well done Year 4 on your music lesson this week!

What was your favourite instrument to play and why?
