Year 4 have enjoyed practicing their recorder skills with Mr. Rees this half term!

We are learning how to play the recorder in steps:

First the class received their new recorders and learnt how to play the notes C, A, B and G.

We practiced a samba song using these notes and quickly learnt to be careful with our fingers! We played CCCCCA and AAAAAC to create a beautiful, tropical sound.

Although sometimes the sound came out squeaky, Year 4 tried their hardest to correct their mistakes by blowing more gently into the recorders and covering the holes fully with our fingers.

This week we began to practice a song for the Christmas Concert, where we will be playing for everybody!

How many notes can you play on the recorder? Which song would you like to learn how to play next?
