This has been a sad week for Year 6 as we find ways to cope with the loss of Paolo and also to look for ways to celebrate his memory. We have been talking and writing about Paolo and what he meant to us. We have made a memory book for our class and a special book to give to Paolo’s family.  We have also been having special assemblies and taking taking part in a range of creative activities. Today, Year 6 worked together to create an enormous cross in honour of Paolo.  We made it out of Lego because that was one of his very favourite things!

It was very tricky to make and much harder than we had expected. It is very big and so heavy that we can barely lift it!  Everyone had to work  as a team and to help each other to make cuboids that were all the same size so that they could be joined together. If the cuboids were too big or too small or not stable enough, the whole thing had to be started again!

We are very proud of the finished cross and happy that everyone helped to make it together. We are always working on building our learning powers and we certainly developed our resilience and our reciprocity today. Well done, Team 6!

What a beautiful cross you made. It is a lovely gesture that brought you together thinking about our beautiful friend Paolo. Rafa is missing you all.
