Today Nursery were very excited for their first visit to the school library!
After making the journey through the school and up the stairs to the library, Nursery all sat down together on the carpet to talk about the library. We learnt that the library is a special place we have at school to read lots of books. We talked about which areas of the library are good to choose books from (the picture book area which has loads of beautiful books to choose from and is very accessible to the students). We then had time to look through the books and explore. Everyone chose one book that they get to take home to read for the week. Once the students had chosen their books, they sat down on the floor to have a quick little read through of the pictures while Miss Pycroft noted which books the children choose. We then talked about how we need to remember to look after the special book when reading it at home, and to bring it back next Thursday so that they could choose another book to take home.

I think Nursery had a lot of fun! I hope they enjoyed reading and spending their time there. I looked at their photos and they looked full of joy and happiness.

Poppy (nursery) was very excited about the book she chose (“Holly’s red boots”). We read it last night and discussed the outfits we wear when it’s rainy.
