What a wonderful start to Reception we have had! The children have been busy settling into their new classroom, getting to know their new friends and exploring all the exciting areas around us.

We have been talking about what makes a happy classroom and created our class rules, including being kind, sharing and taking turns. We also spent time thinking about our Class Charter and how we can all work together as a class, look after each other and make sure everyone feels happy and included.

There has been lots of fun and learning throughout the week. We have enjoyed choosing time, playing with our friends in the courtyard and getting used to our new routines. We also had a fantastic music lesson with Mr Hylton, where we each had our own drum and explored how tapping our hands in different ways can make sounds higher or lower. We even danced along to our favourite bunny song and showed off our best bunny moves!

We have started our handwriting practice, focusing on pencil control and holding our pencils correctly. In our Mark 10 Mission, we have also been learning about how Jesus is especially close to us.

It has been lovely watching the children become more settled and comfortable in their new environment, and we are so excited for all the learning, friendships and fun still to come!
