In PE this week, we were learning all about communication. To begin with, we warmed up by playing a game of Follow the Leader. This meant that we had to carefully watch our leader and make sure that we copied their same movements so that our teacher couldn’t spot who the leader was! This was great fun and meant that we could practice our star jumps and other tricky movements which help us to warm up for exercise.

Later in our lesson, we thought about what communication means through a new activity. We were given the task of trying to get across the entire playground but we could only travel through the hoops! It was like a huge game of the floor is lava! We all started in one end of the basketball pitch and had to all travel across to the other side, but we were only given a certain number of hoops, which we know can’t fit all of us in at once! As we started trying to get across, we realised that we needed to pass the hoops from the back, to the front, and make sure that we were working at a steady pace. To do this well, we had to listen to each other and make sure that we passed instructions clearly and carefully. We had such a great time with this activity and managed to be really successful in the end!

We hope we can try it again one day, and see if we can do it in record time!

Well done for such a fantastic week, Year 2. I am so proud of all of your hard work! Keep it up!
