During our indoor PE sessions this half term we are focusing on Yoga!

We have been learning all about the importance of breath work to start our sessions, so we are calm and at peace with our surroundings. We have been practicing the 3-4-5 breathing technique during Yoga sessions, and it has been so calming, Year 1 have also asked to practiced this technique during the school day too!

Then we have been thinking about different key poses that link to animals. The key animals we have been thinking of are:

  • Fox
  • Snake
  • Frog
  • Butterfly
  • Deer
  • Stick insect

We have been learning the different animal poses, that range from seated, kneeling and standing. Year 1 have been so engaged and sensible during our lessons, and are keen to practice the animal poses and learn more!
