This afternoon Year 1 we’re lucky enough to have Jack from the Polock Toy Museum come and visit with a selection of toys from the past. All term we have been looking at toys from the past, and so today was so great to actually see some of them in real life. Jack showed us the following toys:
– a Victorian era doll, who was made of clay and was 140 years old

– some wooden toys that move using the weight of a toy, which were 100 years old

– a wind up train which was made of tin and was able to turn itself around, which was 75 years old

– a 65 year old teddy bear, who was still very cute and cuddle

– the newest item was a toy car made of metal which was remote control battery powered

We compared the oldest and newest toys, and then voted on our favourite toy. Year 1 voted for the new car first, second was the doll and third place was the train. A big thank you to Jack for making this visit so interesting!
