In our Religious Education topic ‘To the Ends of the Earth’ so far, we started by continuing to focus on the Gospel of John. We read his account of the Resurrection and learned about the signs revealed in the passage about Jesus’ true identity as God incarnate. We explored how Jesus was revealed to different people and how they came to believe that He had been resurrected . We also discussed why people might find it difficult to believe in things that they have not seen and what Jesus meant when He said, “How happy are those who believe without seeing.”
Next, we moved onto the Paul’s letters to the Corinthians, learning about why Jesus is called the ‘new Adam’. This linked to our Old Testament learning in the topic ‘Creation and Covenant’ and we were able to make links between Paul’s teaching about Jesus and the second Creation story in the book of Genesis.
This week, we have been focussing on fundamental Christian beliefs, revealed in the Gospels and made clear in the teachings of the apostles in the later books of the Bible as well as in the teachings of the Catholic Church. Using our knowledge of the Gospel of John as well as the teachings in 1 Corinthians 15:14, the Catechisms, the Nicene Creed and Apostles Creed, we have recorded Christian beliefs about the Holy Trinity which is one God, in all three forms.
Which of the Christian beliefs are most important to you and why, Year 6?
I really enjoy learning about the holy trinity.
It is very important to learn about it .
The Resurrection because you cannot be a Christian without believing in it.
The Resurrection as if you don’t believe it, you can’t be Christian.
I really enjoyed the activity!
The holy trinity is most important to me !!
a important belief for me and christians is to believe in the resseurection
It looks very nice but is hard, the Christians believe the most is the Resurrection.
I really enjoyed this activity. My favourite bit was the drawing. The most important Christian belief in my opinion is the Resurrection of Christ because you can’t be a Christian without believing in the Resurrection. In the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed, we literally say that we believe in the Resurrection and we say at least one of these Creeds in Mass.
The Reserection i think is the most important because its when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into hell
I really enjoyed it thank you.The Ressurection because if you dont believe in it then how are you a christian
I really enjoyed it ! one of the most important beliefs is the resurrection .
A very important belief for me is that Jesus ressurected.
I think the most important belief for Christians is the resurrection of Jesus because in the Apostles’ Creed, it says that he rose again on the third day. We believe this because a creed is something we say to confirm our beliefs.
The Resurrection as it is one of the main beliefs to be a Christians, and it is in the Nicene creed which Christians pray in church in mass.
The resurrection because if you do not believe then god will know you do not and faith is all about believing.
It is important belief is believing are all the mirricals that Jesus has preformed.
I think the most important Christian belief is that there is one God and He is the only one we should worship. I think this because believing in another god that isn’t included in the bible means you are not Christian. It is mentioned that there is only one God but He is split into 3 parts: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
I think believing in Jesus and the Resurrection is the most important Christian belief as Christ is literally in the name ‘Christ’ian and without Jesus and the Resurrection the Christian religion wouldn’t exist.
I really liked it. the most important belief is the Resurrection.
I really enjoyed making a holy trinity, this might’ve been one of my favourite R.E lessons!
The most important Christian belief to me is the Resurrection because you can’t be a Christian without believing in the Resurrection of Christ.
